ABOUT PIMS
 
Pacific Institutes of Marine Science (PIMS) is a non-profit organization and was incorporated in Hong Kong on Sept. 22, 2002. This website is used to provide information about PIMS and links to each of the laboratories of the institute members in PIMS.

  • To raise and distribute funds for exchange of post-graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and junior faculty for training and research at member institutions.

  • To provide a forum for resolution of problems common to non-profit marine laboratories and institutions in the Pacific Rim nations, and to promote research and education at these marine science institutions.

  • To further the wise use and conservation of marine and coastal resources, and to encourage increased collaboration on initiatives in related areas.

  • To increase research and education of member institutions on marine and coastal resources.

  • To stimulate cooperation among members.
