PIMS Graduate, Post Doctoral or Faculty Fellowships

PIMS Fellowships will provide partial financial support to assist individuals to visit a sister institution for a period up to a maximum of 6 months. Eligible individuals include graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and faculty of PIMS institutions.

The purpose of the visit should be for one of the following activities:
  1. To conduct research at the sister institution.
  2. To conduct or participate in a training workshop.
  3. To deliver or participate in a lecture course/series.
Note:
Preference will be given to international exchanges that are for clearly defined research projects.

The fellowship will pay for travel costs (economy airfare and internal travel) and it will also provide a stipend based on financial need. The host institution is expected to cover daily consumable and running costs and provide accommodation.

Applications are invited twice each year (deadlines 31st January and 31st July). Selection will be made shortly after the announced deadlines. Therefore applicants should plan at least 6 months in advance of the time they wish to initiate their project. The Fellowship should be initiated within 1 year of the formal date of notification. Applications should be submitted on the attached form. All sections (section A, from the applicant, section B from the collaborator and section C from the head of the host Institute) must be completed and forwarded to:
